Edith Mountjoy

Edith Mountjoy was born in a displaced person’s camp in Denmark in 1945. She and her family emigrated from Germany to Canada in 1954. After her mother’s early death, she was fortunate to be raised by an intrepid woman, her grandmother, who showed her hot to love the natural world and care about social justice. Her involvement with Briarpatch began as a volunteer contributor, and she went on to work as a staff member in the 1970s and again in the 1990s.
