When did being "pro-sex" become the same thing as being "pro-porn"?

Do we need to have stereotypes in porn? Well, I suppose so, but I'll just be content with not needing porn.

"I can’t believe that feminism wasted a whole decade fighting about porn instead of fighting about things like child care and reproductive justice. I mean, really?"

Feminists have always been fighting about child care and reproductive justice, they can multi task. Should we be fighting for feminist porn justice? I think that's more of a waste.

Thank you for that comment Andrea. I would have just been angry after reading that interview, rather than angry and focused.

"There are three criteria for the Feminist Porn Awards. The first is that a woman was substantially involved with the making of the film as a director, writer, or producer. The second is that the film depicts genuine female pleasure and that women get their fair share of pleasure in the film. And the third is that it expands the range of sexual expression for women by telling us something new about female sexuality, as opposed to showing us stereotyped representations."

Which doesn't tell us anything except a woman expressed pleasure from being treated like a ZOMG NEW!!1! form of meat, and another woman was responsible.

"They actually started out as a response to the racism in the pornography industry."

Because pornography couldn't posibly be about sexism.

"How do you respond to the people who feel that porn and feminism are mutually exclusive?"

Always respond cheerfully, and they won't notice you didn't actually answer the question.

"How contentious is the concept of feminist pornography at this point?"

People aren't smart enough to understand the issues; and if we celebrate enough exploited victims, that'll make the issue go away.

"there are some feminist filmmakers who won’t use certain dominant images like facials in their films because they feel it crosses a line.

That’s correct. It’s totally subjective, but I think everything is. I mean, we’re talking about politics-there are no hard and fast rules."

No, we're talking about PEOPLE. But nice way to reframe the discussion. Is she disingenious, or just stupid? The average age a female enters sexual exploitation is 13. Thirteen years old. 13. Please explain how a pornografied culture is doing anything other then making this problem worse.

If "everything" is subjective, then where does murder fit in? Rape? It's not exploitative unless the exploiter says it is? How about letting the victim decide?

Okay, I'm bored now. When culture brainwashes females from birth to be meat, a truly free choice is not possible. This woman is a bargainer. Rather then face the fact that some men will never stop abusing women, she joined in. whoop-de-do.
