I read this article from a magazine and I must agree with everything you said. This is an excellent article that I think every man should read in order to have a better understanding of himself.

Al: You've confused "having a sense of one's intrinsic worth" and "having an intrinsic sense of one's worth" -- not the same thing. "Having a sense of one's intrinsic worth" is simply another way of saying "having healthy self-esteem" -- something not all kids have, of course, but I would hope that most do.

"Their sense of intrinsic worth-the self esteem that says that I have the right to be who I really am-has been pounded out of them."

The idea that children have an intrinsic sense of their own worth is preposterous. TO THE AUTHOR: Congratulations! your article strokes ivory-tower sensibilities in all the right ways, and you are officially the left-wing equivalent of born-again.
